MEET JOE
UAS EXPERT, TECHNOLOGY PROFESSIONAL, AND PUBLIC SAFETY PARTNER.
Joe Trelli has spent his career solving complex technology problems, including serving as a Senior Solutions Architect with Amazon Web Services and helping build video and communications solutions for Fortune 500 customers. He is also an FAA Part 107 Commercial Drone Pilot and has carried that technical background into UAS, drone detection, live video, and emerging counter-UAS technology.
What really shaped Detect UAS, though, is Joe’s work with and appreciation for law enforcement, fire, and public safety professionals. He listens first, takes the time to understand how a team actually operates, and genuinely enjoys helping people make sense of complicated technology. His goal is not to sell someone the most technology. It is to help them find the right technology for the mission and be there when they need support. Joe has also credited law enforcement, fire, and public safety professionals with directly testing and providing feedback on technology he has developed.

A NOTE FROM JOE
WHY I BUILT DETECT UAS
I’ve spent most of my career around technology, and I genuinely enjoy figuring out how complicated systems work. But the more time I spent working with law enforcement, fire, security teams, and other public safety professionals, the more I realized that technology is only valuable if it actually helps the people using it.
I started Detect UAS to be a resource for those teams. Someone they could call when they had a question, were trying to build a program, needed to evaluate a piece of technology, or simply wanted an honest opinion about what made sense for their mission.
Live Mission Relay came from that same mindset. After countless conversations with public safety professionals, one need kept coming up: teams needed a simple way to get a live drone feed to the people making decisions, without adding more complexity to an already stressful situation. So we built it.
At the end of the day, both Detect UAS and LMR exist for the same reason. I like solving technology problems, and I want to use that experience to help the people who are out there doing the work.
